Rep. Adam Schiff Statement on New York Judiciary Committee Field Hearing

New York, NY – Today, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) released the following statement on the Judiciary Committee “Victims of Violent Crime in Manhattan” field hearing:

“The Judiciary Committee hearing in New York was intended to intimidate and embarrass the District Attorney from Manhattan, because he charged the former president with multiple crimes. It did neither.

Instead of showing that New York officials were soft on crime, it showed that Republicans in Congress are soft on the rule of law, soft on their oath of office and soft on the constitution.

The Judiciary Committee should stop trying to interfere in the prosecution of Donald Trump, and start doing its job, like attacking the problem of gun violence, which has killed more than 11,500 so far this year and is the leading cause of death in children.”
